Sanctuary
A musical ode to my favorite place. This improvised piece features an electronic soundscape and trumpet melody. I used images from this park, as well as the trail that I would usually hike, as a sort of graphic score to guide and inspire my improvisation.

The Long Goodbye
Composed as a musical moment of respite for all those who suffer with dementia, and the people who love them. Alzheimer’s is sometimes referred to as “the long goodbye”, and I think there is no description more fitting. Shared in November for National Alzheimer’s Disease Month and National Family Caregivers Month.
Requiem

This is an ambient-inspired piece for flugelhorn quartet. Slow and emotive, resonating on chords with gentle dissonance. This piece brings to mind the sadness of a goodbye existing alongside a tender peacefulness.
